Relining and Restoring .22 Barrels - 2 hours With older firearms that had corrosive ammunition fired through them or suffered neglect and ended up with a rough or corroded bore, the one way to restore it to proper shooting condition and accuracy is to “Reline” the barrel. This process used the original barrel, therefore retaining all of the original markings and finish. The barrel is bored oversize and a barrel liner is installed.
